Coming to an End

I am actually sad to say that my first ever cross country season is coming to an end. This Saturday is my last meet. I will not miss running a billion miles every day, or waking up way too early every weekend to run 3.1 miles. For real, 3 is enough the .1 is just mean.

For some reason I will miss being a JV cross country runner... until next year that is.

Mercedes Half Marathon

For the few who stalk my blog, in 124 short days I will be running in the Mercedes Half Marathon. So, here is to the beginning of a hard 124 days.

MLIA

My sister and I went shopping yesterday. Although we are 2 years apart, we look exactly alike. We did not realize until after we had reached the summit, and gone to 2 stores, that we were matching all the way down to our shoes. We looked like high school age twins that still dress the same. MLIA

But what made yesterday a little less average was finding out my 11 year old sister flushed an apple core down the toilet and broke it.

Being the 3rd Child

It was Wednesday afternoon, and I had just come home from cross country practice. I came in the kitchen to find a snack that would hold me over until dinner. I looked in the pantry, but there was nothing good. I looked in the fridge then out of habit opened the freezer. While looking past the frozen pees, something caught my eye; a little blue box. This little blue box started to bring back memories. I was 5 again, and in the grocery store with my mom. I reached for the Pillsbury Place n Bake Halloween Cat Cookies and said "Can I please get these?" and of course my mom said "not today." This little blue box in my freezer was in fact the Pillsbury Place n Bake Halloween Cat Cookies I had asked for every time I went to the grocery store, and every time she said "not today". I could not believe my eyes; the 5 year old inside of me was overjoyed. I turned to my mom and asked "Why did you get these?! Do you love me?!" and she replied, "Oh, your little sister wanted those today when we were at Publix." After all the times I asked, she got them for my 11 year old sister...

As insignificant as that story may be, it describes what it is like to be the 3rd child; not fair, not fun, and your little sister will get the cookies of your childhood.
