Auburn

Hello, my fellow blog readers. I have decided today's post will not be about how much I hate cross country, or even school for that matter, but how much I love Auburn. I was born a fan, I will die a fan, and every day in between I will be a fan. War eagle to that.

Tuesday

Today was almost like every other Tuesday. I got up, got ready, went to school, prayed that I would make it to third period, had lunch, and the rest of the school day kind of blurred together. What made this Tuesday so completely different was the cross country meet that I had to face.
After school, I made my way to the trail wishing that John Carrol's runners wouldn't show up. Of course, they did, and it was time for the race to start. We got in our places as the Silver Fox gave us the instuctions we had all heard before. GO! The race began, and we all took off. I went past all the cheering parents, and as I made my way to the woods, I began to questioned myself. WHY AM I DOING THIS AGAIN? I slowed my run to a trott, and just prayed it would be over soon. Slowly, but surely, I made it back to the field where parents cheered, and awkward John Carrol boys halfway clapped to be nice. I was so happy to be there, then I remembered, I had another lap.
Lap two was just as bad as lap one. It was filled with thoughts of how good it would feel to finish, how much I wanted to quit, and what type of excuse I could use to get out of the next meet. THEN it happened. The trail was ending, and all that was left was the field. I ran across the field to the finish line as the Silver Fox called out my time in disgust. I did not care because I was done, that is all that mattered.
Well, I guess that is all that made my Tueday such an abnormal Tuesday. There wasn't much of a point to that story, it was just for the sake of telling people that cross country sucks, and no one should ever do it if they want to keep there sanity. I haven't figured out why I am doing it, but I know somewhere down the road I will be glad I did...yeah SIKE.
