Pascal the Gecko

This past week I volunteered at Camp Briarwood. I will let you know all about my week later, because now I am here to honor the one and only Pascal.

Not many had the privilege of meeting Pascal, but if you had, he would love you. Pascal loved all. He was a good little gecko. As his owner, John Morson, said, "Pascal is 1/4 human, 1/2 angel, and 1/4 gecko." He loved camp, and was a happy little creature.

For two weeks, Pascal lived among us counselors. I will always remember meeting him for the first time. We bonded immediately. He and John shared a connection unlike any man and gecko had before. John gave him food, a home, and unconditional love.

Now, as much as it pains me to say it, Pascal is no longer with us. We were led to believe a camper is the cause of this great loss. One morning John came to see Pascal... Pascal was not there. His house was taken off the shelf, and left open on the counter. He was nowhere to be found.

There is a place in all our hearts for a little green gecko. Pascal had enough love to fill this place, in not only my heart, but everyone else's.

Pascal and his loving father, John.

#watchtan
Ok. Look at this picture. Look at it again. Now try and tell me you are not impressed. Us Jager girls take pride in our watch tans. Mine, the most impressive one, is on the left, then Rosie's then Ruthie's. Virginia got a watch today. If she was not afraid of the sun, she could have one too. You might think I am kidding about the whole afraid of the sun thing, but I am not. She puts on nothing lower than 50... the rest of us use 4. Oh well, her loss. Anyway, back to my watch tan. I have been working on it since February. I probably take too much pride in it. HA! That was a funny joke. No one can take too much pride in a watch tan.

#plans
I know all of you are itching to know my plans for the rest of the summer. I am not going on anymore vacations. Unless, it is the lake or something not far. Other than that, I will be babysitting and working for my dad some. Sounds fun, right? #bejealous

#whatnot
What else is going on in my life?
1. I am stuck being 15 for another month and 3 days. The administration thinks I am going to start school on my 16th birthday. Ha. Yeah, that's a good one. I am not going. I am putting my foot down.
2. Auburn football starts back in 52 days. So, basically my life begins again in 52 days.
3.HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 COMES OUT TOMORROW!! I might cry. I am not kidding. That says a ton, because I do not cry much.

Fireworks

What is it about a firework that is so amazing? The mix of explosive color and light draws me in. To me, the most beautiful fireworks stretch across the sky as a magnificent golden color and sparkle as they streak towards the ground. When watching a firework show I become captivated by the night sky as it is painted with rich, bold colors. They are a simple thing that I find breath taking.

Of course, I took pictures fireworks on the 4th of July. Here are my 2 favorite shots. Enjoy.

Obsessed

I found this quite some time ago and have been obsessed ever since. The video above is Ingrid Michaelson (my favorite singer) singing Skinny Love (my favorite song) by Bon Iver (my other favorite). Basically, this is my musical heaven.

No Inspiration

I am having what I would like to call bloggers block. Rosemary has told me to"#blasttheblock." So, after disappearing for about a month, here I am blasting the block. I promise fun and interesting stories will be up later this summer.

Well, here is my summer so far...

Rave, wisdom teeth surgery, a week of being a chipmunk, movie night, rock quarry, lake, barn, girls night, yard work, getting lost in Greystone, babysitting, cross country practice, doodles, meeting new people, more doodles, and finally buying a super cute romper.

Sorry for the lack of creativity. Maybe next time.

Hurry Up

Summer is all I really want right now. That actually is not true. There are a bunch of things I want right now. But, summer is pretty dang high up on my "I want" list. I am just tired of doing the same thing. Monotonus school days seem to be neverending, even though there is only 14 left. I do not think these days could go by any slower.

Well, I can only cross off the days one at a time. So, hurry up and get here summer. I have been waiting 9 months.

Shout Out to Mama

I do not know what I would do, or who I would be without my mom. She is who keeps me going throughout the day. She always cares for me, even when I say I want nothing to do with her. She always knows what to say, even when I do not. She knows how to put up with me, even when I am at my worst. She believes in me, even when I do not believe in myself. She is proud of me, even when I think I have failed. She encourages me, even when I think I cannot do it. And even when I think she cannot, she loves me more and more every day.

Although, I may not show it all the time, I love you mom. Happy Mother's Day.

War eagle to all the mamas.
